The Brave New View

This work explores the interplay of water in the atmosphere and its impact on our perception.
Through continuous observation of the sky from the same line of sight, it becomes evident how water, in the form of haze, clouds, and fog, affects the refraction of light and thereby shapes our perception of color and space. Scattering, reflection, and refraction of light by water droplets generate ever-changing visual phenomena, rendering the sky a dynamic, shifting space.
The focus lies on the boundaries of the visible and the transition from matter to illusion:
Where does the physical end, and the immaterial begin? The work seeks to capture the fleeting moment of infinity—not through mathematical order, but through the exploration of light and color in a fluid medium. The resulting works visualize these physical processes, inviting viewers to rediscover the subtle, atmospheric structures of water.
Based on these observations, a series of knitted, atmospheric paintings emerged, reflecting the fluidity and complexity of the elements.
